Career Academy School has introduced Taekwando which is the one of the most popular sports at present. It is loosely defined in Korean as “the way of the foot and fist”. It is from the word “Tae”, which means “foot”, “Kwon” for “fist” and “Do” for “the way or method”. Thus, taekwondo is a free-fighting combat sport using bare hands and feet to repel an opponent. It requires proper and skillful execution of techniques such as punching, jumping kicks, blocks, dodges, parrying actions with hands and feet. Taekwondo is a sport that uses the entire body as a weapon to attack and beat the opponent with his hands, feet, elbows, knees or any part of his body. A professional coach being employed in the school for training and guidance.
The school has won several medals and trophies in this sphere in different district levels as well as state level. Pavneet Kaur has also represented as international Taekwando championships at Malaysia.
Taekwondo develops child’s athletic abilities , self-awareness, and improves the child’s capabilities in self-defence. It also emphasises moral development . Children learn respect for themselves and for others, learn concentration, self-discipline and self-restraint.
